So Gracie had her first “homework” or take home project as they call it in preschool this week. I picked a cut out of a Christmas tree and we had to decorate it. So we went to Hobby Lobby after work and picked up supplies. I told Gracie that we could pick out whatever she wanted to decorate it. Amazingly, and quite honestly, a little scary, she picked out coordinating stuff. (I see money already going to the stores. I have a feeling this is only the beginning with our little fashionista!) Anyway, after a lot of gluing, guidance on Gracie’s part (I had no part in where things went, honest with the exception of her name), and glitter, this was the creation of Gracie’s first project!
So I have been meaning to blog about this little story for about a week. However, it was all about Gracie’s 3rd birthday the last couple of posts, so I am just now getting to it. Shortly after we got home from Illinois, we were having a nice quiet evening at home. I remember still being EXHAUSTED and I was taking a mental break watching TV. I heard a sound that sounded a lot like play jewelry coming from Gracie’s playroom. After about 10 minutes I was thinking that it she was doing whatever it was for a long time. So I leaned up to see what she was doing and this is what I found:
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is a whole lot of dog food on the floor. Needless to say, I was not happy, mainly because I was hugely jet-lagged. We got it cleaned up, but I learned my lesson. If the sound you hear catches your attention you may want to see what’s going on. So I asked Gracie what she was doing, she was cooking in her Elmo kitchen for Harley and Daisy. I couldn’t really blame her, she really missed her puppies.
It has been crazy busy this week at work. I have logged comp time each night this week. That is a good thing considering Gracie and I fly out next week to see Matt graduate and hopefully connect with Mike and Liz. I promise, I do have another post about Gracie’s Birthday, but it is going to have to wait until this weekend. Happy Wednesday (is it Friday yet?)
