We want H2O

Gracie had another first....she had some water and drank a little bit. ha ha! I gave it to her in a sippy cup which she was way more interested in chewing on it then drinking from it! It totally cracked me up!

We also have started getting into the push up stance. She will will get up on her hands and instead of getting on her knees she gets on her tippy toes like she is going to do a real push up! Gracie is really trying to crawl but she just can't get that butt to go. Although you put her on her feet and hold her by her sides and she will take a couple of very wobbly steps! I said from the get go she was going to skip crawling...or at least be more interested in walking.

So it is not headline news that technology has advanced in the recent years. When Matt and I got married we had someone record it which we then put on a VHS. Well I can't even remember the last time we had a VCR plugged in so I decided to send it off to Walmart and put it on a DVD. I picked it up yesterday and decided to watch it when I got home. I started it and had to stop b/c I got sad seeing everyone. Well, Matt decided to watch it when he got home and it was great but sad to see all of our friends and family. It was especially hard seeing my grandparents and Matt's grandpa because they are no longer with us. They would enjoy spending time with Gracie so much. I know they would be so happy to have her as a great grandbaby. As a matter of fact Gracie has my grandmother's middle name. Matt and I felt it was fitting since she passed when I was 7 months pregnant. Both Matt and I miss them all terribly but we are looking forward to telling Gracie stories about them. As a matter of fact I sing her a song Grandpa used to sing to me when I was little!

Well, it is 9:00 PM and it is finally Friday so I am going to get things ready for tomorrow and head to bed! I will post some pictures this weekend!

Ahhh..what a relaxing weekend!

Things at our household was lazy and quiet this weekend. We of course did have a few things to do but we still had a very relaxing weekend! We spent the weekend watching TV, hanging out as a family, and getting caught up on housework...which is of course not done. We also went to see the new Batman movie which was GREAT! Creepy at times but still great! We really enjoyed it. Gracie is such a good movie goer. She usually sleeps through the movie or she quietly plays with her toys. However, I have a feeling that those times are coming to an end FAST!

Gracie is continuing trying to crawl. She is getting up on all fours a lot now. She is so funny...she gets frustrated and starts with her "ma ma ma ma" like I am going to run and help her figure it out. Most of the time she just gives up and starts scooting backwards. We thought she was really going to get going on Saturday but it was a false alarm. She also figured out that she can go from being on all fours to sitting up. It is funny to watch her because her legs go in all directions. There are a few pictures that you will be able to see how she is doing.

Gracie is also beginning to eat like a pro. She can hold her bottle with one hand, she is all about any type of food you put in her mouth, and she got to try a cracker for the first time tonight. She loved playing and eating the cracker but we won't be trying another cracker for a little bit...it didn't stay down too long! :) Either way she had fun and now we know she likes them, but her tummy isn't ready for it!

Well, tomorrow is another day and I need to get my beauty rest to be prepared for it! We hope you all had a great weekend and look for more pictures and videos this week!! Until next time...

Holding on with just one hand!

Up on all fours....now if she could just figure out how to go forward!

Getting back up!

Yummy cracker!

Hello

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that we haven't fallen off the face of the earth....just the internet world! Earlier this week our power cord to our laptop decided to give out so we had no internet which meant no pictures or anything. Yeah you could imagine how crazy I was about that! Everything is good here. Gracie is getting bigger and bigger. She has figured out how to get from being on her tummy to sitting up without any help! She is also "rocking back and forth" more on her knees which means she is going to be mobile very soon!

We are spending the weekend at home. We are getting up early today to go get my car fixed and then we are doing some serious vegging out at home. It is very much needed after the craziness that has been our lives the last couple of months.

Well, I need to go wake my girl and my hubby up! They are still sleeping away. I will post more pictures later because you know....I like to take them! :) Have a good day! Until next time...

Play Time

Well, we had a busy day today! We did our usual running around after Matt got home from working for 24 hours! Gotta love the military life. Either way we spent the day as a family. One of the errands we ran was to a sporting good store to get all that Matt needs for his new hobby. He has decided to take up golfing...yep you read it right...Matt is going to be a golfer. He isn't for sure if he is going to be any good at it, but either way he is going to give a try.

Gracie had a pretty laid back weekend. I have been trying to get pictures of her moving all around and yesterday I finally succeeded. She was playing with her toys and she went from sitting up, to laying down, to moving completely off her blanket! There are pictures below. I am thinking we are going to be crawling before too much longer. I am not rushing it though, I get excited when she has a first but it is also bittersweet. She is growing so fast I feel like time is slipping through my fingers!

Also, you will find a video of her laughing. Now, make sure you ignore me in the background! She is such a giggle monster even though this isn't her best giggles. She got the hiccups right after I started videoing her! But either way it is still adorable!

Well, tomorrow starts another week so I should go to bed! I am not looking forward to the alarm going off at 4:30! Until next time!

Having fun playing with her toys!

Things are different from this angle!

Huh, how did I get all the way over here?

She may look like Matt....

Gracie might look like her daddy but when it came to saying "ma ma" or "da da"....ma ma won! Now I realize the chances she is actually calling me mommy and realizing that I am mommy are slim, but I don't care. I am so excited. She is looking more like me, but she still favor's her daddy. She does say da da, but only now and then. Although it is only time and she will be calling both of us all the time!

Another thing she favors me in is getting her picture taken. She loves it! Which is a good thing because I love to take them! Over the last couple of days I have been trying to get pictures of how she starts in one spot and gets to another, but it is hard to capture. But in the mean time, I got some amazingly cute pictures so of course I will share!

Other then that nothing really going on here. We are having a "Girls Day" with Leda and her friend Sara (I hope I spelled that right). We are going for a dinner and a movie which means I need to go get ready now that I am looking at the clock! YIKES! Enjoy the pictures! Until next time....

Warning: Mommy Sentimental Moment

Ok, so with the craziness of the holiday weekend and having Amy here, I totally forgot to post my monthly "Can you believe that she is (fill in the blank here) months!" blog. So here is my sentimental moment. As each month goes by and Gracie keeps getting bigger, it still amazes me that we have our baby. Those close to us know how much we longed for a baby. It seemed everyone we knew had one or two or was going to be having one and even though we were completely static for them, it always reminded us of what we didn't have. Well, now we have Gracie and we couldn't be happier. She is such a blessing. Gracie is such a happy baby, I know I have said that time and time again but it is true. Every time she wants a kiss or a hug it reminds me of how lucky we are to have such an adorable little girl. She has this new thing where she tilts her head to the side and gives you the biggest grin and every time she does it, I just fall more in love with her. It amazes me how much love you have to give when a child comes into your life. Alright, I think I am done...for now! :) Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy...until next time!

Seeing her smile makes my day!

I love this girl!

Another Weekend Gone

My oh my time flies. I think this week was one of the longest weeks ever. All we wanted to do this weekend was rest and relax....and that is what we did. Matt had 24 hour duty on Friday so he came home on Saturday did some things around the house. After he finally puttered out we all feel asleep for about a good 3 hours. Then we went out for a dinner and movie just to get out of the house and spend time together as a family. We love doing things like that because we have a strict no cell phone rule! Then today we just hung around the house. Gracie and I again took another long nap this afternoon and Matt got caught up on some school work.

Gracie continues to scoot backwards all over the place. She is spending time up on her knees more with a lot of rocking back and forth. I think we will be crawling in just a few weeks! Her tooth is also taking it's time coming in. She has started getting more fussy which means it is starting to bother her a lot more. The funniest thing she is doing...even as we speak...is she has started holding her bottle with one hand. She thinks she is such a pro at it! Cracks me up! :)

Well, other then that nothing really is new on our end! Hope all is well on yours! Until next time....

Well....

Ok, so I know it has been awhile since I posted a blog...but as always we have been busy. Our 4th of July was good and bad. The bad parts started on the 3rd when we found out that our long planned vacation with our best friends in North Carolina has to be cancelled because Matt is unable to do take vacation due to a last minute mandatory inspection. This is seriously a bummer. We have been looking forward to seeing Mike, Liz, and Sophia for so long. We are incredibly disappointed that we won't be able to share a week with them. Although, this is the cold hard truth living the military life. Hopefully we will get to see them soon, we miss them so much.

On the other hand, on the 4th we drove to San Antonio. Poor Amy was not feeling well at all but was a good sport the whole trip. Once we got to San Antonio we found out that our hotel we booked had a booking problem and we were out of a hotel. Thankfully we found another one that was actually more adequate for our needs. The best part was that we got to see our other best friends Mariah, Ryan, and Chloe. We went to dinner and hung out for awhile. It was great to catch up with them. We took Daisy with us and let me tell you that Chloe and Daisy played all night long. I don't think that Daisy has been that tired in a long long time.

Then the weekend got bad. Let's just say that we all were sick on Saturday and we had plans to go to Seaworld. Gracie and I felt good Saturday morning, so we headed over there to meet Mariah, Ryan, and Chloe. After a few hours, I was feeling horrible and decided to head back to the hotel. That is where we stayed until the next morning when our stomach bug finally worked it's way out of us and we started back home. It was not the way I imagined spending my nice long weekend nor Amy's last weekend with us. All in all, it really was a two fold weekend...both good and bad.

On another hand, Gracie is doing well. She has a small ear infection which means antibiotics. She is weighing in at 17 lbs but hasn't grown any in the last month...she is still 26 1/2 inches long. She is preparing to crawl by rocking back and forth on her hands and knees. Mobility is around the corner and we are so not ready for it. I was telling Matt the other day that we are going to have spend next weekend baby proofing the house. She is such a ham too. The older she gets the more her personality comes out. Gracie is such a happy baby. Every time I pick her up from school they always tell me that she is such a great baby and a joy to have in their room. We really lucked out with her teachers.

Where she is a ham, she is also a stinker. This morning I was giving her medicine and I had a baby wipe handy so I could clean her up before she had a sticky mess every where. Well, apparently I didn't move the package of baby wipes far enough away from there because I got up to throw the icky one away and by the time I went back to where she was sitting on the floor, she had ripped half of the wipes out of the package. Then she looked up at me with a great big smile as if saying "See Mommy, you give me the medicine I don't like, this is what you get!" I couldn't help but laugh at her. Gracie has also started to object to things if it is not her way. For example, I took the wipes away from her and you would have thought I had committed the worst crime of the century.

Well, I have talked your ears off enough so I am going to let you go. Here are a few pictures from our weekend! Enjoy!

Gracie enjoying the ride to San Antonio! She is such a good traveler!

Ready, Set, & Almost ready to GOOOO!!!

So Gracie has been doing a lot of moving around. She still doesn't care if she rolls over but she is starting to scoot everywhere! She only goes in one direction at the moment....that would be backwards! Last night I was laying on the floor with her and she scooted backwards for about 5 feet. I think we are going to be crawling soon! It's exciting! I will keep you posted! Oh and by the way, that tooth is on it's way...the bump keeps getting bigger, now it is a waiting game to see when it is going to come in! Until next time! :)
