A Great Weekend with an Early B-day Celebration

Ok, so I have had another busy couple of days....not really but I haven't been feeling good. I have had a headache/migraine for about 3 days now. Not fun, I actually went home early yesterday to rest and it helped until it came back full force today. Either way, it is 8:05 pm, Gracie is out for the night, Matt is on CQ (24 hour duty) and I am laying in bed watching TV. Other then wanting Matt home, I can't think of a better way to end my evening.

We had a great weekend. Friday we stayed home, a family favorite that we don't do nearly enough. Saturday Matt went riding while I took Gracie to Gymboree. I decided to move her up to the next class since she is almost 17 months (put that in your pipe and smoke it) and let me tell you...it was the best thing we could have done. She flourished with the bigger kids. She held her own, was excited about every activity, and again threw a fit when we had to leave. I can't complain her fit throwing is minimal compared to others I know but still she can whip out a tantrum when she wants. After the afternoon out, we headed over to Jaime and Wes' for my early birthday dinner. We had such a good time. We ate, played "Friends Trivia", and just had a blast with friends. We have been so lucky at each duty station to become close with other couples, we sure do miss those that are far away.

Sunday we met up with Jaime and Wes again along with MSG Whitford from mine and Jaime's work for a bike ride up to Old Mesilla. I, of course, was the "Support Utility Vehicle" with Gracie. I followed behind as we drove a scenic route up to New Mexico and it was gorgeous. It was very green (not a whole lot is around here) and springy. We ate at "La Posta" a hole in the wall Mexican place that is yummy yummy yummy. It was a great day.

Well, I should try to get some sleep. Maybe I can wake up tomorrow without a headache, that would be great. I promise to have more pictures soon, but for now enjoy these from our fun weekend!

Our Easter Weekend

Side note...I have stopped and started this blog at least 3 times since Easter Sunday...I could never get it done! :)

Our Easter weekend was not what I had envisioned but it was still good. Matt had 24 Hour Duty (again) on Saturday which meant he was exhausted for Sunday. I had plans to go to church with Gracie but then she got fussy and cranky. Quite honestly I didn't want to try to entertain a fussy baby by myself while at church so I very sadly missed it. After everyone had a nap, we went to Olive Garden for lunch. We had plans to go to the local park and take pictures of Gracie in her Easter dress and do a small egg hunt, but the wind decided to keep blowing so we scratched that. So I only have a few pictures from Sunday but at least she will get to wear her dress again while we are in San Diego in a couple of weeks! Easter wasn't what I had planned but I have to keep telling myself that there is always next year...but I was still bummed!

Things have been busy here. Between the "Biggest Loser" competition at work (I have lost about 12 pounds) and all the stuff at home, it seems like I am watching myself coming and going. It should be a relaxing weekend and that I am looking forward too. Gracie is having a bad bout of eczema right now. It is all over her diaper area. I took her to the doctor today and she gave me some cream to help it. I am so glad, it is really itching her. Although I did find out that Gracie is 30 inches! She grew an inch from the last time I took her. I knew she went through a growth spurt. She is still only 22 pounds though...looks like she is going to take after her daddy...once again!

Well, I am going to post a couple of pictures and go to bed! We here at the Cunningham household hope you all had a blessed Easter!

She loved her basket...there was a bunny in it!

16 Months Old

So Gracie is 16 months old...well, she turned 16 months on Sunday and it has taken me 2 days to type this. The first night, I simply got sidetracked (are you surprised there) and last night I literally fell asleep as I was typing it. Matt being the great husband he is, put my computer up for me. I have done this before, but Gracie is doing so many new things, that I thought I would share 16 new things about Gracie. I am in a list making mood tonight! :)

1. Gracie can say a total of 4 real words outside of mommy and daddy. "Baby" "Elmo" "Puppy" and "Daisy"

2. She likes to head butt....but she wants a kiss every time she makes contact with your head!

3. She loves the park, but only likes the slide...the swing depends on her mood.

4. She is a runner...crawling is the thing of the past.

5. She is the sweet girl in class but does have an attitude when she doesn't get her way with the teachers...she is very passive with the kids.

6. She has this "what do you think you are doing" face she gives to everyone...then is she likes what is going on she will smile.

7. The trash can has been discovered...we had to buy a new one with a foot thing so that way we wouldn't find shoes, sunglasses, toys, and everything else she had a desire to put in there.

8. She laughs and laughs at the dogs when they are fighting.

9. She walks through the gate in her classroom instead of going straight into the arms of her teachers...what a big girl.

10. The cute chubby baby legs are a thing of the past and we now have toddler legs.

11. She is a very good listener, she will shut doors, bring things to you, and then open the doors and take the things back just to be a stinker.

12. She still has my personality but is such a silly girl like her daddy!

13. Everyday there is something new...she recently learned to hold up her pointer finger when she is asked how old she is.

14. She still is known for being the best dressed at school.

15. She loves the camera but very rarely will sit still long enough to get pictures.

16. She is still the love of our lives and cuter then anything in the world!

Here are some pictures I took this weekend at the park! We had a very busy weekend. I am trying to figure out how it got to be such a busy one. I am so glad that we got a chance to stop at the park and have a Burger King picnic just the 2 of us!

Laying on her ladybug pillow...she is so tall!

Happy Girl...look at that smile!

Loving the swing

Pure joy and my favorite picture of the day!
