Just a quick one…pictures tomorrow….

First of all, no pictures…my camera is downstairs, I am upstairs, I am not going back downstairs.  I will never live in a two story house again. It is just inconvenient.  However, the perk is, when you have visitors, all the mess can be upstairs! :)  Anyhoo…

What a busy weekend, I worked yesterday, came home took a 3 hour nap (man that felt great) and then relaxed for the rest of the night.  Matt and I stayed up entirely too late and I am paying for it now…I have insomnia…I will shut down the computer as soon as I am finished typing this blog…maybe! :)  Anyhoo, (again)….

Ok, so does someone want to fill me in on how March is over?  Wait, how about why didn’t any of you remind me Easter is NEXT weekend?  I am stuck on what Gracie is going to wear to church on Sunday.  I have about 4 dresses she could wear but none of them look cute with her cardigans she has.  Not to mention I want to do a million things this weekend Easter Egg hunts both on post, at a church, and at home.  (I love Easter).  It is supposed to be gorgeous and not windy (a miracle this time of year here) which means I want to go for a ride…well, Matt rides the bike, I follow in the Escape’ (think Dori saying Escape’ on Nemo) and we get to go eat at this FABULOUS restaurant in Old Mesilla. Ahh..the torture..which one to do! :)  We at least got stuff to fill her Easter basket with, she is a spoiled girl to say the least.  I also got some Easter Eggs to have a small egg hunt here next weekend on top of coloring eggs.  I love that we have a lil’ one to do all this fun stuff with.  Matt didn’t like doing it when it was just us two. (Although I usually made him color eggs with me!) :)

Gracie is doing well.  Potty training is potty training.  She seemed to take to it so easily and everything was good, now she likes to run around the house naked peeing all over.  Ok, maybe I am being a bit dramatic, it is more like she only does it once, maybe twice in a day.  She is actually doing really good, but man, I feel like I am doing laundry all the time.  Not because she is having so many accidents, but because she either doesn’t like her panties she has on or she wants to run around naked then put on a completely different outfit.  Apparently Amy (Matt’s sister), was a free spirit when it came to clothes so she must get that from her…I particularly like being clothed! So she doesn’t get it from me.

She is also obsessed with everything Toy Story, or as she says it “T Story.”  She doesn’t even watch it except for the beginning and the end.  Which means I have to endure the sane dialog over and over and over again for her to actually watch 20 minutes of the whole movie.  Although I am glad she isn’t much of a TV watcher, she just likes to hear it going.  Yet another thing she takes after her momma!

Well, I think I have rambled on enough for tonight.  I do apologize for the very rambly blog.  I am tired. :)  I will post the few pictures I took this last week and weekend.  I do have a swimsuit montage to show you.  It is a bit ridiculous…ok  a lot ridiculous how many swimming suits this girl has! :)  Either way enjoy the beginning of your week, why does Monday always have to come so quick?

PS Sorry for the smiley face overload….:)

Lots of Outside Fun

I know, I haven’t been on here in awhile but it’s because we have had  a lot of outside time since it has been so nice.  I love spring in El Paso.  The sun is usually out which means we are outside playing!  I have tons of pictures to share!

Gracie has been doing fantastically.  Her vocabulary is still growing by leaps and bounds.  She has started to form short sentences.  I actually had a conversation with her on the phone the other night when I was out with my friend Jamie.  She told me all about hanging out with Daddy and playing with the puppies.  It was really cute.  I didn’t understand most of it, but it made me smile none the less.

Like I said we have been spending a lot of time outside.  We have to fit all of our time outside now before it gets too hot.  Gracie loves to run around and play with her dogs.  She will run around with them, through their toys, and call for them to play with her.  She loves her Harley and Daisy.

I kept Gracie home with me today since she was running a slight fever and was coughing a lot with a very stuffy nose.  I know it is due to her allergies (she is still on Zyrtec) but the winds have been up a lot too.  I decided it would be a good idea to give her a day at home with a bunch of rest, mommy loves, and breathing treatments.  It was definitely what she needed.

Funny story for you…have you ever seen a 2 year old try to do jumping jacks?  It is funny.  I was trying to fit in a quick work out on the tail end of Gracie’s nap.  I was on the last 2 minutes of cardio and Gracie woke up…she finished my work out with me step by step.  It cracked me up.  It was really hard for me to finish and not laugh at her.  I love this girl so much…she makes me smile all day lot!

Well, I have talked your ear off enough for now…I will try better this week to keep you posted! Enjoy your Wednesday…we are half way to Friday!

Gracie on St. Patty’s Day…she was not thrilled to have her picture taken at 5 AM

After work on Thursday we met some of our friends at the park and they brought along Natalia’s jeep.  Gracie and “Talu” rode around for about 45 minutes in their car.  It was so cute!!!

Last but not least, Gracie though Daisy needed her hair combed…this went on for at least 20 minutes.  Daisy was such a good puppy just sitting there letting Gracie rip the comb through her fur!

Spring Forward…

Explain to me how one hour can effect your day like springing forward has for me.  Gracie didn’t take a nap today, I didn’t get as much sleep as I needed last night, and now I am lying here in bed at 10:43 pm knowing I am going to be exhausted tomorrow but I am blogging! :)  Either way, despite loosing an hour, we had a good weekend.

Yesterday we had 2 birthday parties to go to.  The first one was at a local park which made me envious that I have a December birthday baby.  The kids had so much fun just running around!  Gracie loved being outside especially with it being so nice out.

I wish this one didn’t turn blurry…it was my favorite of the day.

The next party was at Peter Piper Pizza which is like a Chuckie Cheese.  Gracie really enjoys going to those types of places.  Ski ball is her favorite!

So you want another Gracie potty story?  Well, while we were at the second party, Gracie didn’t tell us she needed to potty so she peed in her pants.  Well, apparently we weren’t moving fast enough for her to go change clothes and leave, so she started pulling down her pants right in the middle of Peter Piper Pizza.  I was laughing so hard, I am not going to lie.  However, she succeeded we definitely picked up the pace!

Today we just hung around the house and spent some time outside.  It was windier today but we still had fun.  Matt bought Gracie a bubble toy so we had to try it out.  However she went right to the volleyball like always!

Friday Night Bowling

It has been crazy here again lately.  So crazy  I haven’t been taking very many pictures if that tells you anything.  Well, both Matt and I got off of work at a decent time yesterday and decided that with our crazy weekend plans we would have a Family Night Out.  We went for pizza and bowling.  Gracie had such a blast bowling!  I wish we could have gotten there a little earlier because Gracie had a couple of breakdowns since it was almost bedtime.  We only played one game but we had fun doing it.  You can tell by the pictures she enjoying herself:

Just a quick note, actually a reality

So I realize all of my funny stories that I have been sharing with friends either at work or over the phone are potty stories.  No one ever told me that when potty training started that it totally consumed every aspect of your life.  For example I have spoken to two people tonight on the phone and I told them my newest story.  Which is…Gracie was playing in her room as I was relaxing on the couch.  She played on her own for about 10-15 minutes before I went to check on her.  I noticed she had lost her panties somewhere in the house…pretty sure before she ventured into her room alone.  Well, I noticed the tell tale signs of a “poo incident” but no poo anywhere.  So I asked her, “Gracie did you poo?”  She told me yes.  I then asked her “where did it go?”  She said Harley followed by some jibberish.  Although, I did hear the toilet flush which is why I went to check on her in the first place and to close the door to the bathroom since I am sure we are single handedly going to be the reason why El Paso has a drought this summer due to Gracie’s fascination with toilet flushing.  So 11 of 3 things happened…

  1. Harley ate the poo…which sends me completely, utterly over the edge.  Period.
  2. Gracie somehow disposed of the poo in the potty like a good girl. (I refuse to think of how the poo made it from the poo spot to the potty.)
  3. Or a combination of both.

Needless to say both Harley and Gracie got a bath.  “Alles gut” as we would say while in Germany but let me tell you, there is nothing like realizing that the most exciting or funny thing in your life has to do with bodily functions.  Yet another badge I now where on my mother sash (I like to think of it like the Girl Scout badges) as I venture on this journey (the most adventurous journey I might say) of motherhood.

Sunday….

Another weekend has come and gone! It was a really nice and relaxing weekend.  We really didn’t do much but hang around the house and enjoy being at home.  I actually had a Girl’s Night Out on Saturday.  It was nice to get together with some friends and hang out.  Today it was another Gracie and Mommy day since Matt has 24 hour duty…again.  It was a lazy day spent in jama jama’s until we got ready to go and take Daddy some dinner.  We stayed at Matt’s office for about an hour.  While we were there Gracie figured out how to dribble a basketball.  I was impressed.  She does really well with watching and then executing what she just saw.  It was really sweet to see her and Matt playing basketball together!

After we left Matt to finish out his 24 hour duty, we got in the car and Gracie was all of the sudden interested in the sky.  She noticed the stars and I told her what they were.  She immediately started singing Twinkle Twinkle Star.  I had the camera on me and got the cutest video…you will notice her taking out her hair…again.

We also ventured to the mall for a few things while we were out.  You probably noticed Gracie was in capri’s in the previous pictures.  The weather is getting warmer here in El Paso.  So I am slowly getting Gracie’s spring/summer clothes.  She really needed a couple of short sleeve shirts so we went to Kohl’s  I didn’t get much but we had a test of how Gracie would do without a stroller.  She actually did pretty good.  We did have to stop and look at the puppies, bunnies, and birdies at the pet store then we had to ride on the cars, but she did great.  Not something I would do every time, but for the short time we were there it worked! :)

Pictures I Promised…

Friday was a gorgeous day outside.  As soon as we got home, Gracie and I headed outside.  She wasn’t much into taking pictures, but I did get a couple of cute ones.  We also had some visitors.  My friend from work, Beth, came over with her 4 kids.  She has twins that are almost 6, a 2 1/2 year old, and a 3 month old…all boys.  It was not quiet in my house, but I am used to it, Gracie is not a quiet child! :)  Here are a few pictures from all the fun we had…

Gracie was so great with baby Chase.  She wanted to be so helpful!  It was definitely insightful for when we add to our family.

Here is the tent Jamie bought Gracie.   She loves it and plays in it all the time!  As you may have noticed in a few pictures before Gracie has learned how to take her hair out of her pony tails…which is giving me no option but to take pictures of her looking like the mayor on How the Grinch Stole Christmas or Ace Ventura…take your pick!

Midweek….

Is it Friday yet?  Not yet? Are you sure?  I am so ready for this weekend.  It has been yet another long week.  It seems like one thing or another has popped up.  Although today was a nice day since I got to get off of work a little early.  However, it was to take Gracie to the doctor.  Yes, again, but this was a very minor issue.  She has had a rash on her bottom for about 2 weeks that I can not get cure.  I have tried everything I knew how to do.  So I finally gave in and made her a doctor’s appt.  Well, the one thing I didn’t try was cortisone cream and that is what the doctor prescribed her.  Gracie was the perfect patient too.  She even walked right up the nurse when he needed to take her temperature and listen to her heart.  I was so very proud of her!

I have not uploaded any pictures yet this week.  I think my camera is taking another hiatus from me.  I do have a couple of new pictures that I took of Gracie playing with her new tent that my friend Jamie got her.  It is so sweet and Gracie loves it!  I promise I will get those loaded as soon as I can and post them.  There are some sweet ones.  Although Gracie had taken her hair out of her ponytails so it looks a little crazy! :)

Well, it’s only 2 more days until Friday!  It is going to be a very nice weekend here so I am sure there is going to be plenty of outside time.  Weather up in the 70’s with sunny skies!  So exciting.  I am also having a much needed girl’s night out .  Look out weekend, here we come!
