Disclaimer: This will be a very long post, as we had a very busy weekend, and there is much to report. Bear with me, it will be kind of all over the place…also, Gracie was not a fan of the camera this weekend so picture quality will not be at it’s highest. Who knew my toddler would be moody? Huh, I just don’t get it…
Part I:
When did Gracie get to be a big girl? Why didn’t anyone give me a heads up? Ok, rephrase that, why did I ignore every one who told me she was growing up? Why do I constantly live in a state of denial that Gracie is growing into a little girl? It hit me on Thursday when I took her to the doctor for her yearly health assessment for the daycare and she weighed in at 30.6 pounds. Then they measured her, she was 3 feet tall on the dot. I was thinking to myself, when did she get to be so big, I remember when she was just a little tyke in my arms at a whole 7 lbs and 7 oz and 21 inches long. How did she get from this:
To this:
(Now I realize this may not be a “cute” picture since she is throwing something away in the trash can, but she looks so BIG!)
Part II:
Friday was a nice, sleeping in day. We had Organizational Day at Biggs Park for my office. It was a nice little BBQ picnic thing, nothing really fancy or planned out. We just met up, had some yummy picnic food, while the kids played. Gracie took advantage of all they had to offer. She spent a lot of time at the playground and in the jumping balloon. Of course, the little toddler water park didn’t get ignored either. Gracie yet again proved to me that she is no longer a little girl, and that she is growing at a rapid pace and learning new things. She easily conquered things like this at the playground:
I even caught this on video:
She had so much fun, she was totally tuckered out. The thing is, she had more fun to come that night when she went to Ms. Jamie’s and Mr.Wes’ while mommy and daddy had date night. She made cupcakes, play croquet, and watched TV all while torturing playing with Tango and Biscuit (Jamie’s kitties.) It was definitely a full day! Here are few more of my favorite pictures from Friday:
Part III:
Saturday ended up being just as busy as Friday. It started off with our weekly trip to the Commissary for groceries and ended up with cleaning. That evening we headed downtown for the annual Street Fest for some live music, yummy food, and good ole fireworks. Gracie loves music of all kinds. Although it was a little loud where we first started out so we moved back. Of course, Gracie was a little bit of stinker binker and pulled out her ponytails after being there for a total of 20 minutes so she had wild hair all night. I tried to wet it down to make it look half way presentable but it didn’t work. But oh well, with a toddler you learn to adapt and overcome. I have to say that is the biggest lesson so far I have learned about being a parent. Gracie was a big fan of the fireworks, as a matter of fact, I thought she was sleeping in her stroller:
when in reality she was hiding from them. She did not like them at all. I really thought she would like them but maybe next year. All in all, it was a fabulous night!
This is what we started with, our first Tropical Sno of the season:
This is what happens when you let a 2 year old take control over the Tropical Sno:

But, as you can see, she didn’t care, she loved it!

One of the five pictures we have taken of just the two of us since we had Gracie!

Daddy playing the Gracie guitar!
Part IV:
Sunday was bittersweet, we took Gracie to see Toy Story 3 finally! She loved it. She consumed at least 2/3 of the bucket of popcorn. This girl loves popcorn just like her mommy (and papa too!) She did fantastic but did start to get antsy after the first hour. After the movie we went home and ordered pizza and I start not feeling well. By Monday I had such a horrible sore throat I could barely swallow anything. I had a fever, I had a headache, I just did. not. feel. good. I am not one that gets sick often so when I am sick, I am such a baby. It was not the way I wanted to end a great weekend but the beginning was so much fun, I guess I can’t complain. Here are a few more miscellaneous pictures from the last week.
Can you see the Cheetos face? This girl loves her Cheetos!
The only pictures I have of her in her 4th of July dress..I am going to fix that this weekend. I hate being sick….
Gracie played with her dolls all weekend. They went for walks, swung in the swing, and had eggs and cheese for dinner….

What a weekend, I loved every moment up until I got sick with Strep…did I mention that park? I went to the doctor today to make sure I didn’t need antibiotics and I did. They gave me penicillin, not fun. Not to mention, Gracie caught ringworm at the daycare so now she has a spot on her leg. This is one of the down falls of daycare, your child will get anything and everything that comes into the classroom. Ugh…not fun. But that is ok, we have medicine so it should go away soon. You take the good with the bad and just keep moving forward right? Although, Gracie has been introduced to band-aids and she loves them. The problem is she won’t keep them on! :) Silly girl. Well, hopefully the rest of the week will go better and the weekend will get here quickly!
