Randomness

I really don’t have a whole lot to say other then it is FRIDAY!!!!!!  However, I do have some pictures to share:

This is one of Matt and Gracie flexing their muscles before bath time!  Gracie is such a strong girl! July 6 (4)

Little Miss Independent, she just HAD to put on her own shoes today.  There was a moment of frustration when she couldn’t get them un-velcroed, but she asked Daddy for help, but she did it all on her own!

Gracie not only wanted to wear a bow today, but she left it in all day long! I was so happy.  She has never been much of a bow person.  She always takes them out.  I thought she looked so cute! July 6 (5)

This is how she ended her day, passed out, with nothing on her tushie, while watching Dora.  It is official, I am the only person awake in the house, but not for long…..July 6

Enjoy your weekend!

Weekend Recap

So, it was another uneventful weekend in the Cunningham household.  Matt did take his girls out for breakfast yesterday morning.  It was nice to sit and eat a nice yummy breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  Afterwards, we just sat outside in the rocking chairs and relaxed for a few minutes.  That is Gracie’s favorite thing to do there!  Gracie was up for a mini-photo shoot:

You gotta make include a picture of the baby blues!  She looks like a little girl here.  So stinkin’ sweet!

Other then that, we had a pretty quiet weekend.  Matt had duty yet again today so Gracie and I just relaxed at the house.  We made dinner to take into Matt so we could spend a little time with him.  We miss him so much when he is not at home with us.  What are we going to do when he leaves for 2 months!

I have told you that Gracie has been speaking more and more in complete sentences.  I need to start writing down some of the conversations more, but I have to share with you a story from today.  It is actually quite similar to a story a blogger friend, Nicki, shared about her daughter Mikayla and her babies.

So today I was folding laundry.  I had already folded the towels but for some reason Gracie thought the hand towels for the kitchen would make great baby blankets.  So, she had about 3 of her babies on the floor.  She grabs one of them and throws her into my lap and says to the baby:

No ma’am, go to sleep, shh.”

Me:  “What did the baby do, Gracie?”

Gracie: “She hitting, no ma’am, not nice, behave” (all while pointing her finger at the baby)

Me: “Is it time for her nap?”

Gracie: “She need to sleep, not nice, baby”

Me: “Is she going to sleep in my lap?”

Gracie: “Yeshh, she needs behave!”

I guess she told that baby.  I am just waiting for her to take them to time out.  It cracked me up. I laughed so hard.  I guess we tell her when she is crabby that she needs to take a nap! ha ha!

Well, I am off to bed, I took a 2 hour nap today so I am still kind of wired but I have to get some sleep or I am going to be exhausted tomorrow!

Elmo, Attitude, & Gracie

I am so sorry for not posting last weekend, I really have no excuse other then I just didn’t do it! :)  However, we haven’t been doing all that much anyway, so nothing really to update you on.

Last Saturday we took Gracie to see Elmo.  A place on post sponsors this program that encourages family to work through deployments in a positive way.  It is really great and fun for the kids.  Most of the favorites from Sesame Street come out, Elmo, Zoey, Rosetta, Cookie Monster, Grover (or as Gracie would say Yovger).  She has a good time even though she took a small tumble off the seat and bumped her head.  After a small freak out, she was all smiles again!

The one new thing lately is Lil’ Miss Gracie’s attitude.  She is constantly saying “Nuh uh” “No Ma’am” and anything else associated with the word no.  I have to say, I don’t like it but I keep telling myself that it is a phase and at some point she will understand that it isn’t nice.  Although, it is really cute when she tells Harley and Daisy to behave.  In retrospect, it really isn’t that bad, but my sweet little girl has a little bit of an attitude…ahhh those terrible two’s you gotta love them.  The three’s get better right?

Gracie is officially no longer allergic to bananas.  We took her to the doctor last week to complete the paperwork for the CDC so she can join her classmates in all the banana yumminess.  At her appointment, she weighed in at 30 pounds and 3 feet tall! I told you she was getting big!  Her new favorite thing to do is cover your mouth if she doesn’t like what you are saying.  I was singing a song and she came over to tell me “No song, my song!”  I guess I have been told right?   She cracks us up on a daily basis!

I am hoping to go and do some pictures this weekend but my camera is on it’s last leg.  When you take as many pictures as I do, you will understand.  I have been promised my “dream” starter camera for Christmas but I am going to have to break down and buy another point and shoot here soon.  Hopefully I will have another month left on my camera! :)  Enjoy your Friday, I am so glad it’s hear!!!

4th of July Weekend

Disclaimer:  This will be a very long post, as we had a very busy weekend, and there is much to report.  Bear with me, it will be kind of all over the place…also, Gracie was not a fan of the camera this weekend so picture quality will not be at it’s highest.  Who knew my toddler would be moody?  Huh, I just don’t get it…

Part I:

When did Gracie get to be a big girl?  Why didn’t anyone give me a heads up?  Ok, rephrase that, why did I ignore every one who told me she was growing up?  Why do I constantly live in a state of denial that Gracie is growing into a little girl?  It hit me on Thursday when I took her to the doctor for her yearly health assessment for the daycare and she weighed in at 30.6 pounds.  Then they measured her, she was 3 feet tall on the dot.  I was thinking to myself, when did she get to be so big, I remember when she was just a little tyke in my arms at a whole 7 lbs and 7 oz and 21 inches long.  How did she get from this:

Part II:

Friday was a nice, sleeping in day.  We had Organizational Day at Biggs Park for my office.  It was a nice little BBQ picnic thing, nothing really fancy or planned out.  We just met up, had some yummy picnic food, while the kids played.  Gracie took advantage of all they had to offer.  She spent a lot of time at the playground and in the jumping balloon.  Of course, the little toddler water park didn’t get ignored either.  Gracie yet again proved to me that she is no longer a little girl, and that she is growing at a rapid pace and learning new things.  She easily conquered things like this at the playground:July 1 (77) July 1 (62) July 1 (65)I even caught this on video:

She had so much fun, she was totally tuckered out.  The thing is, she had more fun to come that night when she went to Ms. Jamie’s and Mr.Wes’ while mommy and daddy had date night.  She made cupcakes, play croquet, and watched TV all while torturing playing with Tango and Biscuit (Jamie’s kitties.)  It was definitely a full day!  Here are few more of my favorite pictures from Friday:

Part III:

Saturday ended up being just as busy as Friday.  It started off with our weekly trip to the Commissary for groceries and ended up with cleaning.  That evening we headed downtown for the annual Street Fest for some live music, yummy food, and good ole fireworks.  Gracie loves music of all kinds.  Although it was a little loud where we first started out so we moved back.  Of course, Gracie was a little bit of stinker binker and pulled out her ponytails after being there for a total of 20 minutes so she had wild hair all night.  I tried to wet it down to make it look half way presentable but it didn’t work.  But oh well, with a toddler you learn to adapt and overcome.  I have to say that is the biggest lesson so far I have learned about being a parent.  Gracie was a big fan of the fireworks, as a matter of fact, I thought she was sleeping in her stroller:July 2 (89) when in reality she was hiding from them.  She did not like them at all.  I really thought she would like them but maybe next year.  All in all, it was a fabulous night!July 2 (80)

This is what we started with, our first Tropical Sno of the season: July 2 (28)

Part IV:

Sunday was bittersweet, we took Gracie to see Toy Story 3 finally!  She loved it.  She consumed at least 2/3 of the bucket of popcorn.  This girl loves popcorn just like her mommy (and papa too!)  She did fantastic but did start to get antsy after the first hour.  After the movie we went home and ordered pizza and I start  not feeling well.  By Monday I had such a horrible sore throat I could barely swallow anything.  I had a fever, I had a headache, I just did. not. feel. good.  I am not one that gets sick often so when I am sick, I am such a baby.  It was not the way I wanted to end a great weekend but the beginning was so much fun, I guess I can’t complain.  Here are a few more miscellaneous pictures from the last week.

Can you see the Cheetos face? This girl loves her Cheetos!

The only pictures I have of her in her 4th of July dress..I am going to fix that this weekend.  I hate being sick….

Gracie played with her dolls all weekend.  They went for walks, swung in the swing, and had eggs and cheese for dinner….

July 3 (12)July 3 (9)

What a weekend, I loved every moment up until I got sick with Strep…did I mention that park?  I went to the doctor today to make sure I didn’t need antibiotics and I did.  They gave me penicillin, not fun.  Not to mention, Gracie caught ringworm at the daycare so now she has a spot on her leg.  This is one of the down falls of daycare, your child will get anything and everything that comes into the classroom.  Ugh…not fun.  But that is ok, we have medicine so it should go away soon.  You take the good with the bad and just keep moving forward right?  Although, Gracie has been introduced to band-aids and she loves them.  The problem is she won’t keep them on! :)  Silly girl.  Well, hopefully the rest of the week will go better and the weekend will get here quickly!
