Lots of Pics!

So it has been a very uneventful week so I thought I would just shower you with pictures! ha ha! So...enjoy! I finally got the pictures back from the generation/family pictures. They turned out great...

Posing for the camera....it is so hard these days to get pictures of her. I have to practically tie her down..ha ha..just kidding. She was in her high chair!

We are so into the Backyardigans. She only watches for like 5 minutes but she loves it. If she hears the music she goes to the TV. We are having a hard time keeping her away from the TV. I think eventually we are going to have to invest in either a higher TV stand or get a TV that mounts on the wall.

She couldn't decide if she wanted to walk or crawl

Walking was the winner....she is just to cute when she walks.

Baby blues...She has her daddy's eyes...they are either gray or blue depending on what color she is wearing. They are clearly blue in this picture. We are in for some major trouble when she gets to be a teenager. I am pretty sure Matt is going to lock the door! :)

I am...the American Idol!!!!

Our weekend has been a very relaxing one! We just basically stayed around the house. It was the first weekend we had that we didn't really have anything going on. We did go to Jaime and Wes' to play some Wii and have some yummy snacks. We played Dance Dance Revolution and American Idol. I have to say (sorry Jaime) I totally rocked out on American Idol. Jamie totally had better groove then I did when it came to the dancing. We definitely had fun. After Matt gets back from Spain then we are going to have another Wii Night over at our house. We have a good time hanging out with them. Gracie had a blast being in a new house and playing with their kitties. Out of the two cats they have, Biscuit and Gracie had the best of time together. Biscuit followed her around and Gracie kept trying to pet him. (Yes, Biscuit is a him!) There is a picture of the two of them.

Gracie is getting so good at walking. Within a couple of days of really getting going, she started turning and getting up from a sitting to a standing position. Apparently this is really fast. There is a girl at work that her son still isn't wanting to turn...he just goes in straight lines. However, this is typical Gracie, she does take her time and then BAM she does it 100%. That is my girl! She is just been too funny. As I was talking to Liz on the phone today Gracie went behind the couch and pulled (I counted them) 16 movies off of the shelf. Daddy likes to keep them in alphabetical order...they aren't now! Wait until Daddy sees that! he he!

Well, Matt bought me my own Dance Dance Revolution so I am going to go do some dancing. We are doing a form of the Biggest Loser at work to promote health and fitness and what better way for me to loose the last bit of baby weight. I am thinking some major dancing is going to do it. I am sore just from the 3 songs last night! Well enjoy the pictures and I even tacked on a video. Have a good start to your week!

Biscuit and Gracie...she got the biggest kick out of him

She is a champ...she can walk and drink her bottle!

Just too precious!

My little Diva!

Ok, so I messed the video up a bit, but it just shows 2 clips twice...not bad considering you love to watch Gracie! :) Enjoy!!!

Just a quick one...

Ok, so I am not the mom who is going to tell you gross stories about Gracie and her body. Even though she is 14 months old she still needs her privacy...however, I am going to break that rule because as soon as this particular incident happened I had a picture in my mind of all the mommies out there that read my blog laughing at me while experiencing yet another "Mommy Initiation." While giving Gracie a bath after her lunch where she decided that it was fun to get mac and cheese all over her face and hair, she was playing the stand up, sit down game. She is supposed to be sitting in the tub at all times but she doesn't think that is fun. So I tell her to sit down and she laughs. Well, she sat down, actually squatted for quite awhile. I didn't think anything of it. About a minute later I leaned over to wash her and guess what I found? Yep your right, poop. I couldn't believe it. As I am baffled at my daughter she starts laughing hysterically knowing that she did something new and funny. I just couldn't believe. I know I have earned yet another badge on my mother belt when you have to give your child a bath twice in a row because they contaminated the first bath. Oh my Gracie, what am I going to do with you? I love that little girl even when I find surprises in places where they don't belong!

Our Monday...

We had a pretty uneventful Monday. The four of us hung around the house until around noon and then we headed over to take family pictures at JCPenney's. They turned out really good. We took a few of Gracie by herself and let me tell you, she was cheesin' it up but with her hand in her mouth. We couldn't get her to keep her hands out of there...which means she is probably teething. Although it could be a shy thing for her too. I was shy when I was young (I know hard to believe) and so was Matt. I am trying hard to put in situations that won't make her feel uncomfortable so that way she can be a happy go lucky girl. She loves the attention though so that is a good sign.

After the pictures we met my friend Jamie for a snack and some shoe shopping....which I am loving. Liz (my friend from Germany) tried her hardest to open my eyes on cute cute shoes and she opened them. The only problem was I was working as a preschool teacher and heels don't go well with that occupation. So now that I am in an occupation that works a bit better, I am starting to build up my shoe collection. I got the cutest pair of shoes for 20 bucks today. I am so excited...they were 70% off. I love a good bargain!

Well, it is time to go upstairs. Side note....Gracie just climbed off the couch all on her own. Talk about holding my breath on that one! Well, I know have a very tired girl on my lap so I should go. I am thinking tomorrow is going to be a park day so I am sure I am going to have a lot of pictures! Until then!

Pictures, Pictures, and More Pictures

WARNING: THERE ARE A LOT OF PICTURES! Since not only have I not posted pictures in awhile, but since I promised I would post some last night, I would just include enough to give you a fix! Enjoy!!!!

This was taken at dinner last night. She was just having too much fun w/her Kix.

All smiles with Daddy at the playground at Indian Cliffs Ranch

At the ranch, they have a small zoo of farm animals and Gracie could barely contain herself, had she not been in her stroller she would have walked right up to each and every animal. She kept screaming at them and waving at them. Way too cute!!!

Getting ready to slide down the slide!

This was her face all day....I am not for sure why she made this face, but I thought it was funny!

Happy Valentine's Day...a day late!!!

Ok, first of all I apologize for not keeping up this week. My mom came into town and we have been super busy. It was such a long week at work but I won't bore you with all the details. Anyway, we have been having a great time with my mom. Yesterday we had a Girl's Day Out shopping and having lunch together. Mom and I definitely boosted the economy shopping for clothes for Miss Gracie. She is ready for the spring and start of the summer. Being in El Paso we will start getting warm weather here in about another month or so meaning that we are going to need to break out capri's and all of that fun stuff. I bought 18 month clothes because Gracie is going through a growth spurt. Although most of the clothes seem to be too big. I am actually wondering if I should have gotten more 12 month clothes. Anyway, we had a great day.

Our Valentine's Day has really been celebrated over the last week. With mom being here this weekend on top of the fact that everywhere was going to be super busy we went out to dinner last weekend. Then on Tuesday, Matt surprised me with roses and Gracie with a gorilla that says I Love You. She loved it! It was so sweet and so unexpected. We ended our Valentine's Day with some quality time spent together playing Wii. Mom went to bed early so we just hung out. It was very nice.

Today we are going to take mom to Cattlemen's Ranch for some good ole' steak. I know I am going to take tons of pictures so I am just going to post a bunch tonight when we get home. I promise there will pictures! :)

Well, speaking of lunch, I realize I need to go get ready. Look for those pictures tonight.

5 Things I didn't know....

about being a mother of a pre-toddler! Oh my goodness. We had a productive day. All the laundry is done in the house (that includes being folded and put away, I want a cookie :)) all the boxes and miscellaneous stuff was put away which means everything has a home, and every surface in the house is clean. Matt and I were busy needless to say. Gracie had a very fun day of playing all over the house. It sure didn't take her long to figure out how to get herself up from a sitting position into a standing position to start walking. She is just taking off. Each day she walks farther distances. Gracie is going to be running before I know it and before I am ready!

Matt and I had a plan and a goal on how we wanted today to go. Since we were on board with the plan, we just assumed that Gracie would be...boy was I wrong. Not only that but I learned a few things about being a mother of a pre-tod today. Now don't get me wrong, I have been learning new things everyday considering this is my first time around, but today I learned a few more things. So I thought I would share them with you along with the few other ones. So here is my list of 5 things I have learned being a parent of a pre-tod:

1. I have never gone through this much bleach...not even when she was a newborn.
2. There is nothing more fascinating then watching Grace do something silly and then watch her laugh at herself.
3. I have to fold the same load of laundry at least 2 times depending on how funny she thinks it is to unfold it.
4. No matter what, when you say no, Grace will through a fit like the end of the world is coming and she will never survive unless she has her way.
5. The things they get into, I mean, things you wouldn't imagine and maybe didn't even know you had will suddenly appear as if out of nowhere.

I really could go on and on, share stories, and keep on entertaining you on the things that Gracie pulled today. For example, I gave her a sippy cup of milk after her snack. She was getting fussy in her high chair so I let her take it with her where ever her little heart desired. I was not surprised to see that she was going to hang out in the kitchen with me. Gracie is actually doing very well transitioning to the sippy cup, we are pretty much down to only having the bottle at night and maybe one in the morning. Either way, apparently Gracie did not want a sippy cup because she kept throwing it on the floor. When I didn't listen to her "grunt" and throw she just kept on doing it. Well, after about 3 throws it suddenly got very quiet. I turned around to throw something in the trash and there Gracie was in her little onesie with milk all over the floor with her hands in it just swishing milk everywhere. I didn't know whether to be frustrated or laugh at her. She obviously thought it was funny. Daddy got her temporarily clean and she got a bath after dinner. I secretly think she purposefully did it so she could play in the bathtub!

Well, it is getting close to 10 so I need to go to bed. Have a good week everyone. I don't have any pictures to post, I cleaned all day, I didn't have time to take pictures! I will try to post some later on this week! Until next time...

Gracie's Walking!!!!

Gracie is finally walking...she is going all over the place. She took some steps on Sunday and then waited a couple more days to really take off. Ever since yesterday she has been all over the place! It is so cute to see her toddle all over the place. She gets so excited when she gets to where she wants to go. It is always fun to see her figure out something new. I knew that she would just take off when she was ready. That is how she does it...she doesn't do anything until she is sure she can do it right! I got a short video of her tonight that I will post at the end of this blog.

It was a pretty uneventful week outside of Gracie walking. It has been nice and warm (74 degrees today) so we have been enjoying the weather. This weekend we aren't doing much just some housework and relaxing. My mom is coming for a visit next week so we are all excited about that.

Well, there are some pictures from the week...the puppies spent the day at Doggie Day Out the other day so they are nice and clean not to mention looking cute! The other's are of Miss Gracie. The video is all the way at the bottom. Enjoy your weekend and look for some weekend pictures on Sunday!

Twice in one night....

So I just had to post another blog....GRACIE TOOK MORE STEPS...AND MORE THEN JUST 2 THAT SHE DID ON HER BIRTHDAY! We were watching the Super Bowl and Gracie was just cruising the couch. Matt and I started to get excited about the game (that would be before the Cardinals screwed it up by letting the Steelers get another touchdown...ugh) and Gracie was excited. I told her to come to me from the couch (I was sitting on the floor about 2 feet from her) and she took about 5 or 6 wobbly steps toward me. We are SO excited. I know once she starts walking there is no stopping her but it is just so much fun to see her discover something new. She was excited when she realized what she had done! So I just needed to share our exciting news. I will try to capture it on video and post it in the next few days. It won't be tomorrow I am sure, I have tons of errands to run tomorrow. Once again, have a good week and be looking for the video because I am sure there is no stopping her now!!!!

Date Night & Bath Time

Ok, so I know I said I would post bath time pictures, but life happened as usual. Matt is trying to finish up his class and we had some homework issues...major issues. So of course I got side-tracked. Either way the pictures I told you about are included...so enjoy.

So Matt and I had a great date night. This is the first time we have gone out just the two us since Gracie is born. Most of you are thinking...Gracie is 14 months...really??? Well, we had a great girl help us out. She is actually Gracie' favorite school teacher. Every time we mention Ms. Vlasta...she smiles and claps. So I was asking about Saturday daycare and she volunteered to take her for the evening. Gracie had a great time with her girls while we went to see a movie with some friends of ours. We had a really great time and we are going to try to do this a little more often. It is hard not having family around and it took a long time for us to find people we trust to watch Gracie. Plus I am very much a do it yourself kind of girl and I HATE being an inconvenience to other people, but this is one of the things I am working on. As everyone always tell me, I can't be superwoman! :)

Well, we are going to watch the Super Bowl and have some munchies so I should go. Have a great start to week!!!

Surprised at her mowhawk! It is tiny, but it is there!

Splish Splash I was taking a bath....

Guess what...love love love taking a bath!
