So, I realize I have been lacking on typing blogs lately but you know it has been crazy this last week. Actually, I take that back, I have been so tired that all I do is come home, have a moment of peace and quiet because Gracie is usually sleeping, then I cook dinner, and then I go to bed. It was an exhausting week and I don't know why...oh wait, could it be that I was supposed to be on vacation and my body knew it even though the mind tried to block it out? That is probably it. We were supposed to be enjoying the beach life with our friends Mike, Liz, and Sophia but if you recall the Army (as usual) put a huge damper on that one. Alright, I am off my soap box. Although Mike and Liz still went and had a great time which is awesome!
We are doing good on our end. Well, unless you count allergies and we are all suffering. I finally gave in on Friday and called the doctor to see if it would even be worth bringing Gracie in and he said no. Although he did ask if we had animals, which we do, and he confirmed my suspicions of the pet dander making the allergies worse. He of course wouldn't say that Gracie is actually allergic but he did say that it could be making the stuffiness worse because of all the extra dander. So unfortunately we are going to be giving Whiskers and Sassy a new home. I am so sad that we have to get rid of them, but it is the best for the family. Also, they are getting older and each move we do is harder on them...not to mention they are definitely not happy that Gracie is mobile now and crawling all over the place. So I think it is best for all of us, two and four legged creatures, if we find a happier home for them. I am going to miss them so very much but we have also had a great time with them. I couldn't have gotten through the deployment without them. On the bright side, Daisy will be able to stick around because she doesn't shed so she isn't a problem.
Speaking of Gracie, she is getting bigger by the minute. She has gone through a growth spurt and is quickly outgrowing her 6-9 month clothes. Just last night Matt was getting her ready for bed and since it has been colder here the last couple of nights we actually have been putting her into sleepers and he came out of the bedroom to ask if we had any sleepers that fit her...he couldn't find one long enough. Right now she is in her jumper with her feet out of the footies part of the sleeper just so she can jump because she has gotten so long. She is talking a lot more too. I swear she is going to be like me...Matt is never going to be able to get a word in once she actually starts talking. She still doesn't say da da but she will get there I am sure.
So far our weekend has been nice and relaxing. I took part of Friday off which was a good move. Remember, I was supposed to be on vacation so I think I just needed a break. I of course don't have to work on Monday and Matt had a 4 day weekend so we have been just hanging out as a family. We are going to be redecorating the spare bathroom and turning it into Gracie's bathroom. Between my stuff, Matt's stuff, and Gracie's stuff, we were seriously running out of room. So that is getting an overhaul. Her bedroom is also getting an overhaul. I am going through all of her clothes and putting them away and I am even thinking about moving some things around in her room too...but we will see...I can only handle one project at a time.
Alright, I am done...for now. I don't have any new pictures on the computer to post but I will get some loaded up tomorrow and post some. I will also post some after I get the bathroom done. I hope you have a great weekend! Until next time....

Finally a relaxing weekend!
FINALLY! That is right finally we had a relaxing weekend. We didn't do anything that we didn't want to do. It was great! We had a friend over Saturday night for a BBQ and we relaxed today...it was so nice! Matt stayed up late last night watching the basketball game so he slept all morning and I indulged myself in holding Gracie while she napped. It was so nice.
Gracie is doing good...we are pretty sure that a tooth is wanting to come through so we have been a bit more fussy. Although she did pull up all on her own this weekend. We were watching tv and she was on the floor playing and all the sudden there was Gracie. She is getting so big. Right now her and daddy are playing with her favorite bunny singing "Little Bunny Foo Foo." It's times like this I fall in love with Matt all over again!
Well, it is time to get ready for the work week. It's bath time so I am signing out! Hope you all had a great weekend and enjoy your week!

Photo Shoot
Last night when I got home, Gracie was in a cheery mood and it was nice out so I thought I would take her outside to do a mini photo shoot! So here are some of her pictures!
Also we bought Gracie an activity table and she can't pull up on it quite yet...well at least all the way because it doesn't hold her to pull up, but she can stand at it and play with it! She loves it!
Anyway, Gracie is wanting mommy and we are on our way out the door so I will write more later! Enjoy the pictures!
Looking cute in her bonnet!

I love this one!

So BIG!

Getting way to big for her own good!

Peek a boo I see you!

Funny Story!
We had a really nice Sunday, which was a nice change from Saturday! Gracie pretty much spent the day crawling around and playing with her toys. We have to keep our eyes on her all the time now that she is crawling. She is either getting into something or running into things. When she is in her pack n play she tries to crawl out of it which is quite funny to watch. Gracie of course gets frustrated and wants out but it is still cute. Ok, so now the funny story. While Matt and I were giving Gracie her bath tonight, Gracie decided she wanted to try something new. Matt was sweeping the bathroom which is super small and I was steaming my clothes for work tomorrow and we both were talking to Gracie while she was playing with her bath toys. As we were talking to her, the little stinker pulled herself up on the side of the tub. Then she sat there and smiled at us like "look at what I did!" This was officially her first time pulling up on something since we don't really have any areas for her to pull up on. We had a sneaking suspicion that she could do it but now we know! Silly girl. Well, tomorrow is the start of another work week and I am already looking forward to next weekend so I can spend more time with our girl. Anyway, I hope you all have a good week!
Just a few pics!

Another week gone!
Whew! It is Friday!!! I have been looking forward to this weekend all week long. For some reason I just needed some more relax time! Anyway, things have been good here. The same ole' same ole'. Gracie is ALL OVER THE PLACE! We are going to spend some of our weekend baby proofing the house. She has figured out that she loves cords...which is great let me tell ya! Either way we are Gracie proofing the house.
Another new thing is Gracie got a big girl car seat! She is getting so big that she was quickly outgrowing her carrier. Even though we don't usually carry her in the carrier unless she was sleeping, you can hear it creaking because she is getting so big. So we had been looking at which car seat was going to be the best one. Well, we finally decided on one with the wisdom from some fellow mommies (thanks Liz and Cindy). Gracie loves her new car seat....she sits up higher so she can see out more and it is way more comfortable. She sleeps much more soundly in it! There will be pictures down below!! I am also putting another video of Gracie crawling! It is a much better video then the last one.
Well, we aren't doing much this weekend except for the baby proofing and relaxing! I am sure we will be taking some pictures so be on the look out for more!! Enjoy your weekend!
Gracie in her big girl car seat! Notice it is dark...
that is how early we leave for work!

She didn't make all the way to school...
she had to take another nap! :)

We are crawling!
Gracie is crawling!!! I mean actually crawling not just her hands moving and maybe a budge of a knee...both hands and both feet! I tried to catch it on video but apparently she didn't want to show off for the camera. Tomorrow night Matt has 24 hour duty again so I will try to catch some more! I am going to let you watch the one I did tonight...just use your imagination! :) Have a good night!!!

It's moments like these...
It is moments like these when worries like how I am going to get the car fixed in the timely fashion I need or how am I going to get through the next two weeks at work that I stop and enjoy moments like Matt, Gracie, and I sitting together on the couch watching a movie or taking a walk as a family or doing whatever we can as a family because that is what is important. I thank God every day for these two special people in my life. Life definitely wouldn't be as fulfilling or fun if they weren't here! I hope you had a relaxing Sunday as much as we did. Until next time...
What a weekend!
Good Morning to all of you! I am so sorry it has been a couple of days since I posted a blog and I know I promised a lot of you that I was going to do one on Thursday night but life got busy! On Thursday evening we took Gracie to see a Sesame Street show. I wondered a little if it would be worth the time because she is just 8 months old and would probably sleep though it. Well, that was definitely not the case. Gracie just loved it! They sang songs and danced all around the stage. Gracie took care of the dancing in our seats. She as just a bouncing up and down, laughing, and wanting to give everyone kisses! It was super cute. She was so exhausted by the time we got home! It was a great time and Matt and I look forward to taking her to things like that again.
Friday evening we spent time was a family and went about the town. Nothing really big. Yesterday we went to Las Cruces to see our friends Leda and Brian. We had a really good time at dinner and going to a movie. Although that good time was tarnish when we got in our car and saw the battery light on. Well we decided to try to make it home and we did...well at least to El Paso. Our car broke down 3 miles from our house. So we called a tow truck and it was going to take them 2 hours to get there so we called some other friends to come and take us home. It was quite a way to end our weekend. Now we have to wait until tomorrow to get it fixed because the dealership isn't open today...surprise, surprise, surprise!
But we are bound and determined to enjoy our day today at home. We are going to have a movie day I think. Below are some pictures of Gracie. She thinks she is a super big girl in her bouncer seat. She has figured out how to make her self sit up. I think the bouncer seat is going to be the next thing that gets put away! :) The other ones are from Thursday night at Sesame Street. Last weekend I bought a dolly for Gracie and it is the first thing she has attached herself too! It is way cute! Of course there is a picture of her with her dolly! Enjoy your Sunday and until next time...
Thinking she is a big girl!

8 Months Old
Can you believe it? Our girl is 8 months old. She is getting to be quite the big girl too. When I took her to the doctor last week for another ear infection she weighed 17 lbs and 13 oz! She hasn't gotten any taller but that is ok, either way she is getting bigger! Matt and I are currently looking into getting a new carseat because she is quickly outgrowing the one she is in now. It's crazy. We aren't completely crawling yet but I am sure we will be there soon! Well, nothing else to really report other then I can't believe she is 8 months old! Time is just going by way too fast. However I am going to post a newborn picture and a picture I just took a few days ago! The difference is just crazy! I will post pictures on Thursday. We are taking Gracie to go see Sesame Street on post. We got some free tickets through Gracie's school. So we thought we would take her even though the chances of her sleeping through it are pretty high! :) Anyway, enjoy the rest of your week! Until next time!!!

Here are some pics
I promised crawling pictures and here they are! She never really crawled today but she did a couple more "steps" a few times! I am still confident she will be all over the place by the weekend but as far as we are concerned, she crawled for the first time this weekend. Which by the way you can't capture on pictures....I tried, but if you look hard and you use your imagination you can see that she is crawling!
We had a very busy relaxing weekend. Saturday I went for a pedicure with my friend Leslie. Gracie had some quality time with daddy which she needed after we went shopping for a few things that morning. I went looking for a big girl carseat this weekend because first of all she is outgrowing her infant carseat. Her carseat is also black and beige, mostly black, which means that since we have a lot of hot weather, she gets really sweaty everytime she is in there. So we are looking for a carseat right now. Which is fun, let me tell ya!
By the way, we had another first today! Gracie cried real tears. Her tear ducts have been closed pretty much until now. When she would cry, her eyes would get watery but never enough to where she cried cried. Well, I left the room today while she was hanging out with daddy and apparently that wasn't what Miss Gracie wanted and she cried big girl tears until I came back.
Ok, I am using the term "big girl" a lot and I don't think I am liking it. I love watching her grow up, don't get me wrong, it is really fun to watch her discover new things, BUT, and that is a big BUT, I am missing her being a baby. I know I have said it before, but I had to say it again! :)
Well, it is time to go to bed....another work week, here we come! Have a good one and I will keep you posted on the crawling! :) Until next time....
Happy girl excited about crawling!

Crawling
So, we are definitely days, and I do mean days, away from crawling! She took a few "steps" today but wouldn't go any farther. She still is all about going backwards but at least we are showing some interest in going forwards! I am willing to bet that by the end of the week we will be going both ways! I will definitely keep you posted! I also will put more pictures up later on today but someone is wanting mommy to rock her to sleep for her nap! Until next time...
