Gracie had her 3 year check up today which went fabulous. The doctor is impressed with her cognitive skills. The only thing that was a no one the sheet was the balancing on one foot for 3 seconds, which I think she can do, but wouldn’t sit still long enough to try it! Ha! She is weighing in at 32 pounds and 34 inches (I believe, I forgot already). The only thing we had to deal with is allergies. And by allergies, I mean we took the whole pharmacy home with us. We came home with 2 meds for her breathing machine, a refill on her Zyrtec, and a chewable allergy tablet (which we did not like, I have never seen Gracie make faces that horrible before. Am I a bad mom for wanting to take a picture? Too bad it wasn’t handy!) She won’t be on all of the meds for very long, but she is pretty congested so they are trying to make it easier on her. I still can’t believe we went from this:
To this:
Then this:
And finally our sweet 3 year old baby girl:
So what all can Gracie do and love? So many things I can’t keep up!
- She still loves (I mean LOVES) all things baby dolls.
- She counts to 20 with ease and is starting to play with numbers higher. She loves to count to 20 and then shoot for 100 typically skipping all the numbers in between!
- Everything is her favorite.
- Her best friend is Harley unless she is at school and then it is Adriana.
- She becomes more independent day by day. She now has to buckle the top part of her car seat. On.her.own. This is not up for discussion.
- She loves to sing. When I hear her singing in the backseat it reminds me of when I used to sing all the time with my Grandpa. I started early too, she gets mad when the song doesn’t have enough singing in it!
- Her coloring has become more adventurous. She actually draws pictures and can tell me about them. I have her very first picture that includes Daddy, Grandma, and Harley. (Apparently I am chopped liver.)
- She loves Mickey Mouse, Ni-hao Ka’Lan, Wonder Pets, Dora, and Diego. She thinks she needs to watch one episode each night. This doesn’t happen, but in Gracie’s World it should.
- She knows how to put on her shoes, panties, pants, and socks. The shirt still gets her though.
- She has her Daddy’s temper and her Mommy’s impatience.
- She enjoys art projects, music, and dancing.
- Her favorite movie is Mamma Mia only because it is a musical with catchy songs. She is not interested in it at all until they start singing. I swear she can come out of a dead sleep to dance to Dancing Queen. Although, she is getting into Veggie Tales which is interesting because she never liked to tomatoes until recently until she watched Veggie Tales and now doesn’t want to eat Bob. I tried to catch this on video tonight, but she looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about.
- She is the most loved little girl by her family and friends. Although I miss the baby stage days, I love this stage. She still has her horrible 3 moments, but we battle them as best as we can and move on. My new motto is fake it until you make it!
Well, it is time for me to put the computer down and go to bed. We only have 2 more days (really one 1 if you just count tomorrow) until we get to see Matt. He is officially graduating Career Counselor school Thursday. As a surprise to me, Mike and Liz are coming down with the kids to his graduation, then we are heading to NC to stay the night with them. I am so excited to see her. I haven’t seen her for 5 years, actually I think over 5 years! Matt and Mike, watch out, it is not going to be quiet in that house with the 2 of us there! So if you don’t hear from me until next week that is why, although I will try to update when I can!
