Ok, most of the time when we are preparing for vacation, the week prior goes SO SSSSLLLLOOOOWWWW! Yeah, um, this one didn’t. Now it is Sunday evening, 12 hours until we are officially in the air to Jamaica, and I am not packed. Almost, but not quite. I need to run to the store, I need to finish up the laundry, I have to make sure Gracie stays up past her bed time so that way she sleeps on the plane better, I need to finish packing, unload the dishwasher…well you get the point. And what am I doing? Sitting here at the kitchen table typing a blog. Yeah, that’s a good way to get my long list of to do’s done, right?
Regardless, it has been a great weekend. Friday was a great day. Matt officially re-enlisted for another 4 years. This means that he will go to Career Counselor school in October. He is so excited about this new aspect of his career. Once his school is finished, we will either be staying here at Ft. Bliss or we will hopefully be moving to either Ft. Bragg or Ft. Lewis. But, technically we are needs of the Army, so we will go where they need us to go! I am so proud of Matt. I know I can always depend on him to make sure our family is taken care of while doing what he loves to do. Even though we know there will be times he will be away from us, we will make it work because that is what a military family does.
Taking the Oath
Two Illinois boys…Lt. Harris is from Northern IL…the two of them bonded over the Bears!
Matt giving is Thank You speech.
Yeah, I got a certificate too!
Lil Miss Gracie has been up to her same ol’ self. She has got to be the funniest little girl I know. The more she talks, the funnier the stuff is that comes out of her mouth. Today, one of the dogs made a mess and she said “Oh my goodness!” I about feel over laughing. Her Aunt Amy also sent her a new doll:
She has been playing with this thing ever since she got it in the mail. It has two elastic straps on the end that she can dance with it on her feet but she doesn’t like that…but loves when her dad puts it on his foot. We also had a guest at the dinner table the other night:
Baby had to make sure she had some dinner too. :-)
Well, I think I have procrastinated enough. Off to the store I go. I will not be able to blog while I am there (I am so sorry Liz!) but I promise to update on Saturday with a TON of pictures! I promise, it will be a picture overload! You might want to prepare now! :) I see you all in a week!
Just because all the Grandparents want a close up of their favorite little girl!
