Being in El Paso, in the 90 degree heat, did I ever think I was going to see a storm like this. We had the loudest thunder, heaviest rain, and biggest hail I have ever seen. The funny thing is that the storm cloud wasn’t even that dark. I heard the thunder first and decided to look up the weather online. I saw it was heading our way and the area was red…red always means bad. I called Matt who was on his way home and eventually got stuck in traffic thank goodness considering 10 minutes after I called him, the hail started. Daisy and Harley were running around barking, Gracie was clinging to me because she didn’t know what to do, and I wanted to watch. I love storms. I had a brief fear of them when I lived in Jacksonville and getting caught in a really bad one. Anyhoo, the neighbors all had broken windows, some had roof damage, and trees or bushes destroyed. We only had a few minor issues, but I am going to call the reality company we rent from tomorrow just to make sure they don’t want to make any checks.
Our back yard afterwards…the grass took a huge beating.
A decent size piece of hail on our welcome mat…this was after it had melted for about 30 minutes.
It looked like snow there was so much hail.
Most people don’t have to deal with the flash floods like we do!
The calm after the storm.
Just because we need a couple of pictures of our girl, here are some from the weekend. These were taken at the birthday party we went to on Saturday.
Gracie & the birthday boy!
Such a sweet face!
“Alright Mommy, enough with the camera, we all know I am too cute!”
