“B” #1 Bieber~
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, my daughter is a Justin Bieber fan. I did not know this. I am familiar with his “baby” song, but I don’t really listen to him. So, it was a shock to me to see Gracie go NUTS over this song last Friday when I picked her up from daycare and they played one of his songs. I thought maybe it was just the excitement of all of the other children…nope. She.LOVES.this.song. I decided to record her dancing to it when I discovered something else I didn’t know she knew how to do. A SOMERSAULT! Yeah, it was just a weekend of new things, but we will get to the rest of that in a moment. Check out Gracie just dancing away (it is actually a really short video, but you will get the point):
“B” #2 Babysitter~
We have officially found a babysitter! Not just a friend that is doing us a favor. On Superbowl weekend, we went to a friend’s house for a party and met this super sweet girl who is in high school and loves kids. She seemed to really like Gracie. Although, Gracie spent most of the time playing and watching the game. so she didn’t get to know Tierra. After talking it over, we thought we would try it out for one night to see how it went so we planned a date night. Gracie was excited to have a friend over and quite honestly we were excited to go out for the evening by ourselves. It was a success. I left the house confident that things were going to go great. Gracie didn’t even give us her sad face, a tear, or her ever famous, puckered lip. She asked where we were going and said to have fun. After a quick hug and kiss, we were out the door. I have to admit it was the first time I left her without feeling guilty or in a rush to get back because I felt like I was being an inconvenience to our friends. After dinner and a movie, we headed back home to find Gracie fast asleep. We took Tierra home and called it a night. The first thing yesterday morning, Gracie asked for Tierra. Right then, I knew that we had found our babysitter! I wish I would have taken some pictures, but I didn’t so maybe next time.
“B” #3 Breast Cancer~
On Sunday, we participated as a family in the Race for the Cure here in El Paso. Matt’s mom and aunt are breast cancer survivor’s, so this is a cause that is close to our hearts. When a girl from work approached me and asked if I wanted to join her team, I immediately said yes. Every year I say that I am going to do it and I never do. This year was different. It was an early morning, but it was worth it. It was so uplifting to be amongst so many people who were there supporting their families both near and far. I am going to keep doing this year after year. Gracie had a blast too. She got to ride in her stroller (which she never does anymore) and even got to “run” back with Daddy. When we were walking back to the car, she wanted to run again so we did. This girl has so much energy. Oh wait, she got to ride the whole 5k!
Us before the race…it was so windy (hence Matt’s hood attacking him, ha!).
This the only picture before the race Gracie was looking towards the camera…she was not in the picture taking mood.
Just before they turned around to run back.
After the race, still taking it easy in the stroller.
Racing back to the car! I love this picture!!!!
Poor girl was just tuckered out after all of that excitement.
The rest of the weekend was spent taking it easy. We have all been tired, so it was a lot of movie watching and nap-taking today. I love three day weekends. Although, I really don’t like Tuesday’s after three day weekends but it is only one day right? I just hope it goes fairly well!

So glad you guys have a sitter you like. You need to keep her in business and go out each month. I totally understand what you mean about always rushing home to relieve your friends. So happy for you guys! Miss you!!!
