So in the hustle and bustle of everday life, I totally forgot to wish Gracie a Happy 13th Month Birthday! Gracie is almost 13 1/2 months at this point, but I wanted to make sure I recognized that she is getting bigger and bigger. She is learning so much more everyday. Lately she has been nodding yes when you ask her questions like "Do you want milk?" or "Do you want more?" She is even making a "m" sound for more. Not to mention that she is increasing her play with more animation and pretend play...now don't get me wrong, she can't pretend that she is playing house by any means, but her play is more organized and you can almost see her thinking her next move through. She is also trying to say more and more words. My girl is growing up!
Last Thursday I had a doctor's appt so I decided to take the whole day off. I took Gracie to school while I was at the clinic. After my appt. I met Matt for lunch just the two of us! That is a rare treat for us considering we just recently found a person we trusted enough to watch Gracie. It is hard being a military family that moves so often. It is hard to find people you trust to watch your child. Needless to say I am a Mama Bear that protects her cub just a bit too much but in my mind that is ok. Anyhoo, after we grabbed a quick lunch we picked up Gracie and I took her to the park. She had so much fun. She wasn't for sure about the swing at first, then she loved it, and then when I put her back to the swing, she was either done at the park or she decided she didn't like it. But the slide was definitely a HIT! I think she went down it at least 20 times. I told Matt the next time we take her to the park we are both going...I got exhausted trying to take pictures and put her back on the slide but it was way worth it. I got some really nice pictures and of course there is a few at the end of the blog.
So I had to work again this weekend....ugh. I swear I am done with Saturday's for at least a month. It was an ok day, but I would have rather been home with Matt and Gracie. We just chilled out Saturday night. On Sunday I got out of the house for a little bit and did some shoe shopping with my friend Jamie. I love shoes, it all started with Liz, she sparked my interest...then I taught preschool so I never invested in really cute shoes because, let's face it, my adorable shoes would have been covered in paint! Either way, Jamie, Gracie, and I had a fanstastic time and I got two pairs of shoes. (Liz you would love one pair of them!)
After we got back from shopping Gracie came down with a fever. She has never had a fever that was more then 100.5, yesterday it got up to 101.3. I was a little scared but I gave her some tylenol and it came down, but not all the way. I just keep some tylenol in her and decided to take her to the doctor today because she was WAY fussy and pulling on her ear. Sure enough, she has an ear infection. She hasn't had one in about 8 months, but this one is pretty bad. Since we had a really bad diaper rash last time she was on antibotics we decided to do an injection of antibotics instead of the liquid form. It works faster and there is only a need for the one shot. I hated to put her through the pain but trust me when I say that the 10 minutes of pain she was in was way better then her screaming in pain during diaper changes. She is already feeling better and hasn't been running a fever all day. She is going to go back to school tomorrow since it has been 24 hours since her fever was up but I am going to try to leave early. It might be too much for her.
Well, it is 11:30 and I am having a case of insomnia. I need to try to go to bed so I am not a zombie tomorrow. I will try hard not to go so long again before I type another blog! Have a good week!!!!
Just having too much fun!
She loved the slide!
