Our Day at the Zoo

We had a really fun weekend! Friday was a bit crazy. Half way through the morning the daycare called to tell us that Gracie was really pulling on her left ear. Of course since Gracie had that first ear infection at 7 months we have been really leery of ear infections. Also it was Friday and we were afraid to let it go until the weekend. So after jumping through hoops to get her an appointment, we found out that Gracie weighs 20 lbs and does not have an ear infection! YEAH! Now we just need to wait for her 1st Birthday then we are going to turn that car seat around! I know she is going to love it. She is going to be able to see Mommy and Daddy! Friday night we stayed home and watched scary movies...well, Matt watched scary movies while Gracie and I played! :) We also found out that Gracie is really doing well with standing. She is really working on her balance. I always say it is so fun to watch her discover things and it really is! She was playing with her activity center and found out how to play with a new part which totally stoked her out! She is just too funny.

Then Saturday the Zoo was having a Boo at the Zoo day where basically kids dressed up and did more like a Harvest Day rather then Halloween. What a good way to make use of Gracie's flower outfit then showing it off at the zoo. We had such a great time. Gracie loved riding along in the stroller looking at all the people and animals. We went to the gift shop to get her a toy to remind her of the day. We always let her pick out which toy she wants (we pick out 2 and she chooses between them) and she chose a penguin. Let me tell you what, that kid loves that penguin. She gets super excited when she finds it. Gracie and Daddy have a great time playing together with Pengy the Penguin. It was such a great day. The weather was perfect too. Actually the sun could have backed off a bit but it was still nice. We took plenty of pictures for you all to enjoy.

Today Matt had to go to work for most of the afternoon so Gracie and I took him to work and went shopping for a coat and hat for her. Since we leave at 5 AM, it is very chilly and Gracie needs to have a hat on before she gets an ear infection. Also, since we are going home over the Thanksgiving Holiday we needed to find her a coat that would be good for here and there. Let me tell you that it is not easy to find a coat that will be heavy enough for Illinois weather and light enough for El Paso weather. But we found one and it is adorable. Believe it or not it is a 18 month size coat too.

Well, I have talked your ear off enough for the evening. Not to mention I have to get to bed...4:15 always get here way too early. Hope you all had a good weekend!!!!

Enjoying her Cheerios! She loves Cheerios!

Me and my pride and joy!

There is mommy holding her baby monkey that was born 3 days before Gracie. This picture was taken at the end of January.

This is that same monkey family and the baby monkey is the one swinging from the tree!

Tuckered out from her day at the zoo!
